Winter Break
My winter break plans are going to North Carolina to visit family. We're going to watch movies and bake cakes. We usually go there for Thanksgiving, but sometimes we go there for Christmas as well. Our family members there live in a wide open space and have dogs and horses.

Taking Initiative
Taking initiative means doing what has to be done without a reminder. Some ways to take initiative are to ask for more work when you finish the work you already have, find work yourself, and have a good attitude. It's important to take initiative at your internship, because if you don't, you won't get anywhere, and you won't get the job. An example of when I took initiative at my internship was when I finished the invoices for one NIH institute, I simply went and asked John if there was another NIH institute that I could do invoices for.

Internship #2
The name of my new internship is the Center for Information Technology. My internship is located in Rockledge, Maryland, Building 6700 B. I get to my internship by using the Rockledge shuttle from the NIH main campus. My supervisor's name is John Burke, same as before. One of my co-workers is Ted Virts. I work from 10am to 1:45 pm. Some of the tasks I do at work are invoices for different NIH institutes. My new job is as satisfactory as the last one.

The interview is going to be today around 10 am. I'll start my new internship next Monday. I feel really good about starting my new internship. The interview went rather well to be honest. Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a holiday where people honor and celebrate everything that they are thankful for. I'm thankful for family and friends mostly, and I'm also thankful for the great experiences I've had in life. Project SEARCH will celebrate Thanksgiving with a formal feast tomorrow. I usually go out of town for Thanksgiving. However, I've been very busy since graduating from The Harbour School five months ago. So, I am probably going to be staying at home with my family for Thanksgiving this year.

Intern Update Meeting
The people attending my Intern Update meeting were my dad, John Burke, Mr. Carter, Ming, Jessie, and Denise Ford. We discussed where I am going to work next; it turns out I'm still going to be working at the Center for Information Technology. Some of my goals are to finish Project SEARCH and find a well-paying, part-time job. I feel really good about staying at the Center for Information Technology.

PowerPoint Presentations
Sasha Butler gave a very good presentation yesterday. The presentation talked about what Sasha's hobbies are and what she does at her internship. Her internship is at the Office of Human Resources Building in East Jefferson, Rockville, Maryland. Some things that she does there are sort and organize office files and mail. What I liked about Sasha's presentation is that she has an interest in playing the piano.

Halloween
Project SEARCH watched movies, handed out candy, and went to a piano concert. They were once-a-year activities for Halloween day. It was Monday, October 31st, the last day in October, Halloween day. The activities took place at the Clinical Center, Building 10, and in the Project SEARCH classroom. We did these activities just to take a break from our usual everyday agenda. We celebrated Halloween by watching movies, handing out candy, and attending the piano concert.

Following Directions
Following directions is a very important part of everyday tasks. The recent following directions assignment was an example of what happens if you don't follow directions. It's crucial to follow directions, because if you don't follow directions, you won't get anywhere. Following directions is a good rule of thumb in many situations, because if you do that, you can get things done right. This assignment is just meant to show what happens if you do or don't follow directions.

Lunch Meeting
I had lunch with Philippe Fontenot. This lunch meeting was on Monday, October 17th, 2011 around noon. I had the lunch meeting at the Center for Scientific Review. The lunch meeting was somewhat enjoyable, although we didn't really make a lot of conversation, I tried to talk to him about the SpongeBob Movie, which was on during that past weekend.

All About Me
I joined Project SEARCH to get some real workforce experience. I enjoy Project SEARCH because I'm getting good workforce experience. One thing I've learned here at Project SEARCH are some good on-the-job attitudes. One of my favorite things to do is exercise. My favorite color is any color other than gray. My favorite foods is a mix of healthy and unhealthy foods together. My favorite movies are any that involve humor in addition to action. I also like to play games of any kind, especially board games. I'm very good with math as well, since I use math in many situations.

Skills and Hobbies
A skill is something that you're good at at work or anywhere. A hobby is something that you do for a living, or something you like to do outside of work. Some of my skills are organizing and mathematics, and working until I get the job done. A few of my hobbies are doing exercise, relaxation, and using computers. Something I would like to work on is trying to handle criticism and feedback a bit better.
