Self Advocacy

My disability is autism. It makes me feel angry, and I do almost anything to deny it. Self Advocacy means to speak up for yourself, your wants and needs. As a child, your parents advocate for you. In Project SEARCH, your job coach and instructor advocate for you, but after Project SEARCH, you will advocate for yourself. I can advocate for myself by stating what I need help with. Self Advocacy is important because once you get to adulthood, you're pretty much on your own.

  1. I completely understand Alex, you mentioned that you are not your disability and I AGREE! You are doing a good job advocating for yourself.
